Kaudia Estate- Far From The Maddening Crowd

The mighty snow capped mountains have always attracted me. There’s a certain charm that lies in watching the clouds passing by as the sun peeps through them and as evening proceeds, the twinkle of the stars making it look ethereal. That’s something White Mountain- Kaudia Estate is all about.

Nestled amidst Cedar forests and flanked by the Himalayan Ranges, Kaudia Estate, is that perfect environment-friendly hideout from the maddening city hustle. Located at Kanatal almost a 300 km ride from Delhi, this estate stands tall at an altitude of 7,300 feet. After an exciting train journey, followed by a road trip we reached this luxury private estate – The Kaudia. The best was when the 4X4 vehicle drove us down a steep as we watched the setting sun n full golden glow. The uneven roads made the ride more of an adventure.

A warm welcome awaited on our arrival. Greeted with smile and warm cup of tea, and nature’s canvas to fill your eyes, there was nothing more I could have asked for. It was almost somewhere in the hills of Europe that I had transported myself too. The spacious Kaudia estate saw three villas each very distinctly done and every corner tastefully taken care. The villa that we were put in even had an attic. It’s designed in an such an amazing way that all the rooms look out to beautiful mountain peaks. Ask the staff and they will be quick enough to identify them — Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath.

I was attracted to the giant windows in the room at first floor and decided to park myself there. The gorgeous magical light in evening gave me my fairy tale moment.  Packed with chic, modern furniture the place feel was much quaint, colonial at the same time.

Giving that homely touch a level higher, home cook food typical Pahadi Garhwali flavours was waiting for us at the table. Each dish made to perfection and rotis served hot hot on the plate there was nothing I could have asked for more at that moment. Retiring for the day with a hot coffee I knew morning are gonna be picturesque. With the snow-capped mountains in the far distance to watch, to seduce your senses, life is nothing less than perfect.

This a Timeless Getaway operates around the idea of sustainability and green house. The estate has a rainwater harvesting unit, besides a water treatment plant. Most of the greens are grown in-house and literally the organic way. The best part the fruits here are not plucked but left for birds to enjoy. Out of the five acres only three acres have used with much of thoughtful construction and landscaping. Cedar & Deodar Forest make this place all the more desirable.

This  private holiday home is a total delight for Instagrammers, each corner of the estate has been very aesthetically taken care. Flowers galore, some that are grown wildly and some curated beautifully with pretty benches nearby to sit, adore and pose.
