The iconic establishment since United Coffee House, that has created and curated a new legacy in the Delhi culinary scene since 1942 has always been about experiential dining with a dose of nostalgia. Keeping the dose of nostalgia alive UCH has launched their 3rd baby United Coffee House -REWIND, in Nehru Place. Akash Kalra new kid on the block comes out as a much promising place n the ever busting Epicuria.
With a cover of about 80, it offers a more casual and contemporary taste of the bygone era. The island bar is makes for the highlight of the place. The naked brick look gives a vinatge look. This younger cousin of the the stalwart has recently opened its door at Neheru Place. The subtlety of the ambience makes the place much desired to spend a nice quiet evening. Though Epicuria has its own buzz but this new address is gonna take it a notch higher. The exposd brick wall, sutble pics on the walls, a little quirky wall art and a section very tastetfully done a which gives that privacy if one is looking for one.
The food menu on the other hand sees spread across an eight page tabloid style covers almost all cuisines. From Lamb chops to the beetroot goat cheese aranchini the also also sees there are United Coffee House staples with colonial influences in the form of Tomato Fish, A’La Keiv and more. The comforting dishes in the menu are surely something that you will com back for.
Don’t miss the Hawaiian Kona Coffee the original French Press coffee that helped make United Coffee House legendary. The experience continues to take a notch high through the playlist that includes English and Hindi hits from the 50s and 60s. The legacy still stands upright.
As I write this the place is yet to get its liquor license.
