Mario Miranda’s Quirky Gallery

Mario de Miranda, is no new name either in Goa or Mumbai. His murals depicts various buildings in Goa and other parts of India. The humour attached to them is beyond comparison. The Mario Miranda gallery in Candolim is a storehouse of some of his best work, which one can see on display.

The gallery houses merchandises like cups, t-shirts, photo frames, cards, scarf’s, ladies handbags, fridge magnets, salt and pepper cellars, soup bowls and more. Available mostly in black and white, while some in colour, these merchandises are prices from as low as Rs 20 to Rs 2000 and one cannot step out of the place without picking some handful of his work. The gallery which is one year old claims to have his copyright of his artworks. The gallery sees Miranda prints stocks in ample quantity.

The merchandise sees some of his iconic sketches like Miss Nimbupani and Miss Fonseca are all about true Mumbai flavor which will never go out of trend. While his other works capture the true Goan culture and the city’s beautiful landscape along with the real colonial Portuguese architecture touch in his sketches. He has given the Goan spirit a perfect representation.

This famous Goan cartoonist and Illustrator cartoons till date grace the walls of one of South Mumbai’s most famous hotspots, Cafe Mondegar.
